Free Time Darwaza: Doorways to Wisdom

Free Time Darwaza which will be held from July 26 to 29 is a four day event at Somerset House. The Somerset House will be transformed into an outdoor party all the family and is themed ‘India’ for India Now festival. The children can spend their summer holidays by participating in workshops, treasure trails in the galleries, watching performances and playing in the fountain.

Vayu Naidu Company will provide information on the known and unknown spaces of Somerset House and also discover the treasures of the Gilbert Collection. One can join Dinah Kelly in transforming the Somerset House Learning Centre into Indian Paradise or create shrines at the workshop, inspired by Courtauld Institute of Art Gallery and the Gilbert Collection. Visitors can also listen to Maori music from WAI, New Zealand, watch the Honky Tonk Windy Plonky Machines of Professor Jake and the Whacky Windbags or help Jeanette Barnes to finish a giant architectural drawing of Somerset House. Visitors can also make maze with sculptor Gayna Pelham.
