This year the country will be celebrating the tenth birthday of Baisakhi Mela. It is one of the largest street festivals and to make the 2009 Mela the best, residents are called upon to give their view. The celebration of Baisakhi features continuous reading of the Sikh Scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, for over a period of 3 days. This is then followed by the recitation of sacred hymns. The celebration ends with a final prayer and serving of sacramental food.
